I would follow your Parenting Order if there is one. It should provide guidance as to travel terms. If there is no Order or no mention of travel in any Parenting Order, then I would suggest you are not limited as to travel within Canada. I would supply an itinerary and all contact information and allow regular phone calls from child to non-travelling parent. Travel during summer break and meetups with relatives are usually in the best interests of the child. Try to cultivate better relations between yourself and the other parent for the sake of the child. If time allows, you could clarify travel with a court order or revised court order.
